Toprak Razgatlıoğlu is the world champion for the third time

Turkish motorcyclist Toprak Razgatlıoğlu has once again become the World Superbike champion, following the 2021 and 2024 races. Toprak was deliberately dropped by Italian rival Nicola Bulega during the superbike race at the Jerez Circuit in Spain. Bulega, despite receiving a long-lap penalty, closed the gap, and topped the podium in the second race, Razgatlıoğlu clinched his third world championship.
Turkish Motorcycle Federation President Mehmet Sadık Vefa, Vice President Ogün Baysan, and TMF National Team Captain Kenan Sofuoğlu watched Toprak's championship race live on-site. Thousands of citizens waved Turkish flags at the race in Spain, supporting Toprak. Deniz Öncü, Can Öncü, and Bahattin Sofuoğlu also attended the championship celebration.
Nicknamed "El Turco," Razgatlıoğlu made his World Superbike Championship debut in 2018, earning 78 wins, 61 second-place finishes, and 34 third-place finishes, achieving 173 podium finishes. The national athlete, who won 21 of the 36 races in the 2025 season, took the top step of the podium and proudly sang the Turkish National Anthem. This season, Razgatlıoğlu represented Türkiye on the podium 31 times, winning 9 second and 1 third-place finish.
RACING CAREER FULL OF RECORDSToprak, who won his first world championship in Superbike in 2021 with Pata Yamaha, became the first Turkish motorcyclist in the history of Turkish motorsports to achieve this success in the World Superbike Championship after Kenan Sofuoğlu's 5 World Supersport Championship titles and also ended British racer Jonathan Rea's 6-year championship streak.
Razgatlıoğlu, who earned Yamaha the title of pilot with the most race wins, won his second world championship with the ROKiT BMW Motorrad team in 2024, while also bringing BMW its first Superbike championship in its history.
Born in 1996, Razgatlıoğlu signed a deal with the Prima Pramac Racing team to compete in MotoGP in the 2026 season. Toprak will be the first Turkish athlete to compete in MotoGP next season.
