The photo that sparked controversy on TikTok: Not everyone can spot the spooky detail

Optical illusion , defined as situations where visually perceived images and objective reality differ, is also known among the public as optical illusion .
Small details noticed in optical illusions can sometimes provide information about a person's character and inner world.
But this photo shared on TikTok by biologist Dr. Dean Jackson may be one of the strangest optical illusions ever encountered. While the black-and-white frame initially reveals two girls sitting in a wooded area, it's claimed there's a third person in the photo, and most people haven't noticed that face.
Dr. Jackson recommends the following method to those who cannot see the hidden face:
"Put your phone on a stable surface, turn around, and walk five steps away. Then look back. This way, nine out of 10 people will see the face. If you walk 10 steps away, that chance rises to 95 percent."
Many users who claimed to be able to see the face thanks to the technique Jackson explained said it was a very scary experience.

So does this face really exist? Or is it just our brain playing tricks on us?
According to experts, behind such optical illusions lies a psychological phenomenon called facial pareidolia , which is our brain's tendency to see face-like shapes in random visual information.
Some people find these types of faces easier to see. While this is more common in individuals prone to paranormal beliefs, it doesn't necessarily indicate a psychological disorder. However, situations where this perception can't be distinguished from reality can indicate psychological problems.
