Demand for Greek islands continues

Demand for Greek islands continues

We have previously written and announced:

Tourists are choosing affordable and comfortable destinations. They're exploring new things. That's why Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, is attracting attention. Furthermore, entry is visa-free. This summer's holiday is said to be a sellout, as reservations are already full.

Statements indicate a growing demand for the Greek islands, which are said to offer a cost-effective and comfortable holiday option.

A new destination added to this season's summer program is Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt's tourist destination. The world's eyes are on it. Egyptians say, "The cheapest and most comfortable vacation is here."

TUI has officially opened bookings for the 2026 summer season. The company currently offers guests around 30,000 hotels and TUI Fly's full summer flight schedule.

Holiday airline TUI Fly offers more than 560 weekly flights to the Mediterranean region, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, and the Red Sea. Flights depart from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Munich, and Stuttgart airports, providing a total capacity of around three million seats.

Spain remains TUI Fly's most popular destination, with over 220 weekly flights. Eighty of these are to Mallorca. The company notes that flights from Düsseldorf and Hanover are particularly popular.

According to TUI, demand for the Greek islands continues, with more than 180 TUI Fly flights per week carrying holidaymakers to popular destinations such as Crete, Rhodes and Kos.

Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt's tourist destination, has been added to the summer program this season. With the reopening of the TUI Magic Life Redsina Sharm el Sheikh resort and the launch of direct flights, the company continues its strategic expansion in the Sinai Peninsula. The new flights will operate directly from Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. "With this step, we are strongly demonstrating our confidence in Egypt," said Benjamin Jacobi, CEO of TUI Germany.

TUI is entering the summer booking season with a comprehensive hotel portfolio. According to the company, 30,000 hotels worldwide will be available to guests as of the start of the 2026 summer season. In addition to the Robinson and TUI Magic Life clubs, the TUI Blue, TUI Suneo, and TUI Kids Club facilities are also available for booking for the new season.

One of the highlights of the innovation is the four-and-a-half-star TUI Blue Berawa hotel on the Indonesian island of Bali.

In addition, more than 300 tour programs worldwide are available for booking, including the new TUI Tours programs with local focus and personalized itineraries.

A new regulation has been made for tourist guides.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has made significant changes to the Tourist Guide Profession Law No. 6326, published in the Official Gazette. The updates to the regulation, which went into effect on November 7, 2024, have streamlined some procedures and clarified disciplinary criteria.

The “one month” period given to applicants to submit the required documents has now been limited to “fifteen days”.

The phrase “not having received any disciplinary punishment” in the conditions for participation in guidance courses has now been narrowed down to “not having received any temporary ban or dismissal from the profession”.

The difficulties encountered in establishing commissions for foreign language proficiency exams have been addressed. The new regulation allows for the establishment of commissions with fewer members, with ministry approval, and eliminates certain qualification requirements. This will facilitate the administration of exams for rare languages.

The word “and/or”, which could lead to legally ambiguous interpretations, has been replaced with the clearer and more binding word “and”.
