Garbage piles formed on the streets of Beşiktaş

The garbage that caused a bad smell on the streets caused reactions from the district residents. Yahya Uzun said, "This is nothing more than punishing people. Let them do their job, protest, do whatever they want, but leaving people in such filth and protesting like this does not suit civilized and modern people."
Due to some cleaning workers at Beşiktaş Municipality going on strike, garbage is not being collected in some neighborhoods. While garbage piles are forming in some neighborhoods, locals and tradesmen have reacted to the situation. Stating that hygiene has deteriorated in their neighborhoods, the locals called on Beşiktaş Municipality and stated that the cleaning teams should collect the garbage as soon as possible.
'THIS IS PUNISHING PEOPLE'Yahya Uzun said, "You see the situation of the neighborhood, I have been in this neighborhood for 40 years and there has not been such a situation for many years. This garbage has not been collected since April 29th and the windy weather has blown all the garbage around. There is garbage everywhere under the cars, at the entrances of houses and buildings, in the parking lots unfortunately. The garbage that is collected has been collected and half of it has been dumped on the ground and this is the case. It is a very bad thing that this situation exists in a district like Levent, Gayrettepe, Beşiktaş. This is nothing but punishing people. Let them do their job, let them protest, let them do whatever they want but leaving people in such filth and protesting like this does not suit civilized and modern people. Children cannot walk on the streets in this dirt and dust. This is the situation. I do not understand what it means for the authorities to punish people. It means punishing the people here, this people. The authorities need to find a solution to this. There is a solution to this somehow. "If the district municipality cannot do it, the metropolitan municipality should do it or they should get solutions from other municipalities," he said.
Another citizen Ahmet Yıldırım said, "They haven't taken the garbage for 2 weeks, everywhere is like this. Everywhere is like this. It is impossible for this garbage to exist in a place like Gayrettepe, it shouldn't exist. The municipality is responsible for this, it should give people their rights, the rights of the workers, if you give the workers their rights, these wouldn't stay here anyway. So there is a problem, they are not giving the workers their rights." Mehmet Zeybek, the owner of a barber shop, said, "I don't want this garbage in front of my shop, I would like it to be taken to a more suitable place. Don't you think so? It is very ugly in appearance and spoils the whole appearance of the shops. It also prevents us from making our bread at the entrances and exits. Since my shop is a beauty salon, it naturally has a negative effect." Zeybek, who drew attention to the fact that the smell will increase as the weather starts to warm up, said, "Then the effects will be even more effective because flies are here. When the customer sits in the garden over there, it gets uncomfortable."
