Portugal qualified for the 2026 Women's Volleyball European Championship

Portugal today secured qualification for the final stage of the 2026 European Women's Volleyball Championship, after beating Georgia 3-0 in the last game of the qualifying phase.
In Santo Tirso, the Portuguese team beat the Georgians by scores of 25-8, 25-16, and 25-18, a result that allows them to finish Group E in second place, with seven points, behind leaders Spain, with 11.
Portugal secured qualification as one of the five best second-placed teams in the qualifying groups and will be participating in the European Championship for the second time, after its debut in 2019. The competition will take place between August 21 and September 6, 2026, in Turkey, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
