1 – Using multiple whitening products at the same time Vitamin C, retinol, and exfoliating acids all have their value, but using them all at once won't speed up results. Quite the contrary: it can irritate the skin, cause inflammation, and intensify pigmentation. Choose one active ingredient at a time, test for at least two weeks, and observe your skin's reaction. You can alternate between vitamin C in the morning and retinol at night, or use them on different days.

2 – Treat only the stain, but not the cause If the blemish is caused by active acne, focusing solely on lightening it won't help. Inflammation continues to produce melanin, and new marks appear.
