15 Luxury Couches That Deserve to Be Your Centerpiece

- Perfect sofa for bingeing movies and TV
- Comfy—plush cushions, with a higher back and armrests than other Sundays models
- Easy to keep clean; don't be afraid of that white
- A little too plush and comfy for a formal setup
- Upholsteries are all off-white and beige, if that's not what you want
We've been fans of Sundays for awhile now, but this Get Together is the first time we've been truly wowed by the brand. So much so, that it won a big award in our 2025 Home Awards. It looks high end, but it's easy to clean and doesn't have all the fuss that comes with a typical luxury sofa. Eat dinner on it; sleep on it; live with it. If you've got kids, this is probably the luxury sofa you want to go with.

- Solid construction, great materials
- Incredibly comfortable
- Dense cushions will last a long time
- Too large for many spaces, but Arhaus has smaller models
There are many ways to be luxurious, but a good rule of thumb is simplicity. Luxury couches shouldn't try too hard. They have solid construction and a few details to make them feel special, like the dramatic length big frame of Arhaus's Kipton. It's the kind of grandeur a throne might have, except it's a couch and you don't have to rule over anyone.

Check the URL, and you'll see Symbol got it's start making high-end furniture solutions for living room audio. It was making consoles to keep records, players, and speakers. There's a particularly trendy line with famous family-run Swiss design company USM.
With that in mind, it makes sense that seating was the next step. When you're critically listening to a record, you are sitting, laying, or sprawling. So, Symbol went and made a perfect contemporary sofa. The whole thing is modular. The fabrics are sourced from the world's best mills, and the whole thing is assembled in North Carolina. It's as close to perfect as a new sofa we've ever seen enter the market.

- Beautiful oak frame is on full display
- Love the leather
- High design, but not a look that'll get dated
- Leather runs more expensive than velvet
Soho Home is another one we've been into for a long time. It's bread and butter for sofas is velvet. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of that. I can acknowledge that the Linden, Amble, and Laura are gorgeous sofas, real statement pieces. I'm just a little burnt out on velvet.
So, I was drooling when the brand dropped this Marcia sofa in leather. It's everything that's great about Soho Home—great shape, focus on the oak wood frame, and a timeless look—just add leather upholstery. For me, this is what does it. But I would recommend the entire catalog to those looking for luxury furniture.

- A piece of design history
- Comfortable and perfect for lounging
- Funky modular build, straight from the '70s
- Quite low-slung
- A price tag to match its history
Italy's post-war design boom is a huge part of what made it a cultural powerhouse. Fiat, Vespa, Ferrari—most big Italian brands came about around this time. Even storied companies like Gucci came into their own during this period. In the interior-design and industrial-design worlds, Mario Bellini was one of the big names.
The Camaleonda sofa system was wildly popular during it's heyday in the '70s. B&B Italia stopped producing it for a after tastes moved on, but there's been a renewed interest in the style. Just look at how many of these sofas are popping up on 1stDibs for proof. To capitalize, B&B Italia brought it back into production. Yes, it's $20,000, but you're buying a monumental piece of design history.
And as for the websites that make replicas you see on TikTok, we're not huge fans. That goes double since the original designer is still living. It's tacky. Furniture is difficult to hold intellectual property over, and that means B&B Italia and Mr. Bellini would have to be incredibly litigious to stop replicas and dupes. It's an impossible task. You live by your moral compass, and we ours. If you want to grab a replica, they're easy to find, but I'm not going to tell you where to go.

- Performance linen is a great fabric
- Plenty of other fabrics available for custom order
- Modern shape, but still has some soul
- Low back and armrests aren't the most comfortable
CB2 is one of our favorites for affordable luxury. The more design-forward arm of Crate&Barrel pulls in some really incredible designers and firms to make furniture. This one from Ceci Thompson is truly beautiful. The frame is assembled in North Carolina, like most great sofas in the states, and upholstered in a performance faux linen. The slight gap off the ground keeps it from weighing a space down, but the low back and armrests keep it looking modern.

- Maiden Home is one of the better brands out there, from a sustainability POV
- A ton of upholstery options
- Shape is a bit subtle, if you want a statement
Maiden Home's Warren couch is made with a simple shape and back-to-seat proportions optimized for lounging. You can keep the shape of the couch but pick out the perfect fabric for you. (We're drooling over this dark-brown Tuscan leather.) Plus, the brand is committed to sustainability with ethically sourced materials, and it's only made-to-order, so they don't have an excess of wasted stock.

- Not available in a leather upholstery—only weaves and velvet
Reclining sofa ... A luxury reclining sofa? Believe it, asshole! West Elm makes a sofa that's sleek enough for entertaining guests in a penthouse. But when they're gone, push the feet out and it's casual and comfortable like a camo sofa from Bass Pro Shops—best of both worlds! That's true luxury.

- Does a great job showcasing the beautiful walnut-wood frame
- Performance fabrics are easy to care for
- Colors are all muted, if you want something eye-catching
As for something that's easy to fit into your current home design, nothing is as easily accommodated as the Citizenry's Helm sofa. It comes in a suite of easy-to-clean and neutral-colored fabrics. The walnut-wood base features prominently, but it's not challenging to look at and won't stand out in any sort of room—classic, beachy, modern, you get it.

- Beachy linen-nylon upholstery looks great
- Slipcover is easy to remove and clean
- A few different widths available
- Only a handful of colors
If you love a linen sofa, nobody does it better than Jenni Kayne. Get it in a beachy natural linen, or go more modern with a mustard yellow or greyish green.
The Harbor Sofa comes with a linen-nylon-blend slipcover in a few different colors. It's reasonably easy to spot-clean, but the beauty of a slipcover is that you can pull it off and have it cleaned professionally.

- One of the most comfortable couches on this list
- Several configurations
- Only a few upholstery options
Floyd's look and feel are investment-piece worthy, but it doesn't look or feel like it should belong in some stuffy estate's living room. It's designed to be played with and is even durable enough for kids to jump on. Keep it as a two-seater or expand it to three, turn it into a chaise sectional—it's all up to you. It's big and comfy, a couch you want to sleep on, a couch you'll want to keep forever.

- Has a classic look

The shitty thing about buying new sofas on the Internet is that the look can get a bit homogenous. Clean, sharp lines and minimal detail—prefab luxury. Now listen, we're not saying this Lulu and Georgia sofa is a huge deviation from that, but the carved legs give it an antique feel that no other sofa on this list has. The shape is simple and modern, but the legs give it just enough interest.

Design Within Reach—not the price—has been all over the place for those into decor trends. The brand sources great pieces from designers and streamlines them online, like this Outline couch whose upholstery-to-leg proportion might seem kind of off, but that's exactly how it manages to look so good.

Some pieces of furniture are meant for reading magazines, ahem, and this is one of them. This three-seat couch has the feel of an oversize recliner, which takes up more room but also means you can take up more room. The warm beige works like a neutral but with a deeper dimension to it than stark neutrals.
