The Denk boats are being brought to light again

The equivalent boats used voluntarily by devoted fishermen to carry ammunition are being rebuilt after a century.

The denk boats made by Mehmet Aksoy, who produces boats in the district, are exhibited in the district. The construction of the second of the denk boats, the first of which was built in 2024, has begun. The denk boat, which is planned to be completed by June 9, İnebolu Heroism Day, will be exhibited in the national struggle corner to be created in İnebolu Courthouse.

Mehmet Aksoy, who built the denk boat, touched upon the importance of the denk boats and said, "We are building our second denk boat. This denk boat will be exhibited in the national struggle museum built in our Inebolu Courthouse. We will finish it before June 9th. This denk boat is a small-sized version of the boats that carried ammunition in the War of Independence. It is known as an infantry boat. Our Inebolu Chief Public Prosecutor gave the order and we started building it. We will put it in a nice corner inside our courthouse during the ceremony on June 9th. Our guests there will be able to see it. It will be a first for such a denk boat to be inside the courthouse."
