He will go to jail for violence against women! Scandalous remarks from Ozan Güven

He will go to jail for violence against women! Scandalous remarks from Ozan Güven

Following the incident between actors Ozan Güven and Deniz Bulutsuz on June 13, 2020, both parties filed complaints against each other. In its decision announced last June, the Istanbul 58th Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced Güven to 1 year and 15 months in prison for "intentional wounding with a weapon" and acquitted him of charges of "insult" and "deprivation of liberty."

In its decision, the court considered the lampshade Güven used to strike Bulutsuz as a "weapon." The case was appealed, but the higher court ruled that there were no procedural or substantive irregularities in the local court's decision and upheld the sentence.

Güven, whose sentence was reduced within the scope of probation, will serve the remaining 45 days of his sentence in an open prison.

"I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE TO HIM ONLY"

Addressing the public, Güven said the following in his statement at the press conference broadcast on the “100 Years Magazine” program:

"If I have left the slightest doubt in the hearts of every woman who loves, knows, or believes in me, I apologize to each and every one of them. But I won't apologize to her (Deniz Bulutsuz) alone, because I didn't do anything to her."

"I DID NOT BEAT ANYONE"

Güven, who denied the allegations against him, made the following statements regarding the night of the incident:

"I didn't hit anyone that night. If someone were slapped or punched, they would break something. That's out of the question. The next day, he wanted my assistant's car and wanted to go to Bursa. How could that happen?"

Güven also claimed that the incident in question was fabricated, saying, "One would have to be unscrupulous not to see that this story does not reflect the truth."

"AM I AN OBJECT OF VIOLENCE?"

The actor emphasized that he did not want to be associated with violence in his 30-year career:

"My photo is being used in every incident. Am I an object of violence? I don't deserve such an image. I've been in this profession for 30 years, but I can't change my face. I may look tough because of my roles, but that doesn't make me that kind of person."

Speaking about his sentence, Güven concluded his statement by saying, "If it's 45 days, it's 45 days. I'll go and serve time if necessary, but I want these slanders against me to end."
