Eşref Rüya and Roses and Sins made their mark at Cannes

With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and organization by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, the Turkish television, series, film, and content industries participated in MIPCOM 2025, one of the world's most prestigious content fairs. The event, which brought together 12,000 visitors and 3,300 content buyers from 100 countries, saw significant interest in Turkish series. Represented by the participation of 28 companies, Turkey stands out with its annual production of approximately 50 series and its global audience of hundreds of millions.

PISTACHI GREEN CLASSIC CAR RESTORED

Tims&B's phenomenon series, Eşref Rüya , also made an appearance at MIPCOM 2025. The moment Eşref Rüya 's stars , Demet Özdemir and Çağatay Ulusoy, entered the Palais des Festivals was projected live on giant screens. The duo shot their first special shoot in the magical atmosphere of Cannes . Özdemir and Ulusoy were accompanied by a 1969 Cadillac, also known as "Fıstık," one of the series' iconic characters. The pistachio green classic car was found in a small French town and restored, transforming into Eşref's Fıstık. The Turkish stars, who cruised along the iconic La Croisette boulevard in the car, attracted the attention of both the press and visitors.

Çağatay Ulusoy, who gained a large fan base with his character Eşref Tek, described his Cannes experience as follows:

"This is my first time in Cannes. Of course, the international sales of our series are important, but I approach it more emotionally. This is not just about selling a series; it's about promoting culture and people. So, we're here to strengthen our networks. I hope the audience feels the same way we do."

ÖZDEMİR: VERY EXCITING

Demet Özdemir also shared her happiness with both the festival atmosphere and the interest in the series. Özdemir said, "It's very exciting for me because we work very long hours and at a very intense pace. It's very precious for me to breathe here, to meet other people, and to tell them about our series. Özdemir also expressed her hope that her character, Nisan, will inspire women around the world : Nisan is a woman trying to stand on her own two feet and has her own dreams. Building their large family, built on the strength of the bond she formed with her sister, and their long journey together are incredibly precious. But when things don't go our way, there are moments when we have to put aside our feelings and dreams. The audience will actually watch this journey."

PROSECUTOR: EŞREF RÜYA OPENS TO THE WORLD

The series' success at Cannes also brought smiles to the faces of its producers. Producer Timur Savcı expressed his pride in the attention it received, saying, "We're happy today because people came from all over the world. Eşref Rüya is opening up globally. We're going to the Middle East, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa—in fact, we're going to all the continents."

SAĞYAŞAR: WE WORKED WITH GREAT METICULOSIS

Burak Sağyaşar stated that the series' success was no coincidence, saying, "We worked diligently for two years. This success is no coincidence. Our channel is strong, our actors are excellent, and we complement each other as a team. Now this hard work is being opened to the world."

BAYRAKTAR: I AM PROUD OF OUR TEAM'S EFFORTS

The series' director, Uluç Bayraktar, expressed his satisfaction with the reception at Cannes: "We like our series very much, and the reception at Cannes was also very positive. We're just getting used to this level of attention. I'm proud of our team's hard work; this motivation gives us strength."

ROSES AND SINS INTRODUCED

The fair also featured the launch of the new series "Güller ve Günahlar " (Roses and Sins), produced by NGM. Lead actors Murat Yıldırım and Cemre Baysel were met with considerable interest from industry representatives and visitors. The series, which won viewers' hearts with its first episode, was announced at a launch event held at Carlton Beach, where preliminary agreements were made with numerous countries. Cemre Baysel and Murat Yıldırım posed for photos with international fans for extended periods. Whenever possible, they shared behind-the-scenes stories and tips on the series.

Cemre Baysel, one of the series' leading actors, said, "When I first read the script, its mysterious structure and excitement drew me in. It was a text that made me wonder what would happen to us."

Murat Yıldırım stated that portraying a man who is cheated on in the series was a significant experience for him, saying, "This role was very different for me. It's a character I haven't played before. Serhat is a man who has been betrayed, and then he meets Zeynep and embarks on a completely different journey of healing."
