Vale Tudo: Meet Sumara, a key figure in Odete's secret

Vale Tudo: Meet Sumara, a key figure in Odete's secret

The remake of "Vale Tudo," celebrating Globo's 60th anniversary, is preparing a significant twist for the end of August. Manuela Dias's story, directed by Paulo Silvestrini, will welcome the arrival of Sumara, a character with a conservative appearance but attitudes that defy expectations. Her first appearance will be at the farm where Odete Roitman keeps the soap opera's biggest secret hidden: her son Leonardo, who has been kept out of the spotlight for 13 years.

The new figure will enter the humble hut where Leonardo and Ana Clara live. Arriving with a registry book in hand, Sumara will be responsible for formalizing the marriage between the two. The act, however, will not be motivated by romance, but by strategy, at the request of the caretaker who, as we know, seeks to take advantage of the situation.

Ana Clara will conduct the entire process with a cool head. She will add her own signature and use Leonardo's fingerprint—unaware of what's happening—to validate the certificate. The episode will also feature the delivery of an envelope of money to Sumara, highlighting the planned nature of the action.

"We're married, you see? He's my sweetheart, Dr. Sumara. Whatever the case, the important thing is that we make our dream come true, right?" Ana Clara will say during the meeting.

The marriage will have a clear objective: to serve as a blackmail weapon against Odete. Upon learning that Ana Clara has become close to Heleninha at AA meetings, the businesswoman will go to the shack, outraged. There, she will hear direct provocations about the new family connection.

"It turns out your family is now my family too. I married Leonardo, mother-in-law," the caregiver will say, before explaining the reason for the provocation. "My husband is entitled to a third of everything, Mrs. Odete. I have the marriage certificate."

As anticipated by the production, these scenes are scheduled to air on Thursday (August 28), at 9:20 pm (Brasília time). Sumara's participation will be brief, but essential to the narrative turn.

Therefore, the character's introduction promises not only to move the story forward but also to deepen the plot's central conflict. After all, the revelation of Leonardo's existence and the officialization of his marriage to Ana Clara could change the course of the power struggles in Vale Tudo.
