Nutritionist teaches different ways to hydrate chia seeds

Hydrated chia seeds have become a favorite among those seeking a healthy lifestyle and complete nutrition. The seed has excellent nutritional value, as it is rich in omega-3s, proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, as well as vitamins, minerals, and fiber. But beyond consuming the seed raw, hydrated versions have been popular on social media.
Nutritionist Bernardo Romão points out that chia can be hydrated in water, juices, yogurts, vegetable drinks and even cow's milk.

"You can take advantage of this to reduce the glycemic load of a drink that is very rich in carbohydrates, such as grape juice or orange juice, and increase the fiber, protein, vitamin, and mineral content," suggests the professional.
After preparation, the nutritionist emphasizes that the food should last two to three days in the refrigerator. After this period, it's best to discard it and mix it again.

Because it's a diverse food, Bernardo points out that there are no contraindications, but it's important to be mindful of the quantities. "It's a very safe and healthy food, as well as very versatile."
