Gérard Depardieu was on holiday in the Azores before being sentenced this Tuesday to an 18-month suspended sentence for sexually assaulting two women in France, where he is from.

Notícias ao Minuto knows that the actor, whose name is now part of the French sex offenders registry, traveled to São Miguel on April 13 to film the film 'Ela Olhava Sem Nada Ver', directed by actress Fanny Ardant.

However, after filming, which took place for about a week, the actor decided to stay on the island, with his girlfriend and her parents, who were already on vacation.

"They were supposed to spend one or two weeks in the Azores and they've been here for almost a month," said a source who interacted with the 76-year-old filmmaker during his stay in the region.

Notícias ao Minuto also knows that, on Saturday, May 10, Gérard Depardieu was with his wife having lunch at Mercado da Vila, in Vila Franca do Campo, where he ended up taking photos with several people, including two of the space's chefs.

It should be recalled that the court's decision, known this Tuesday, refers to sexual assaults committed against two women during the filming of 'Les Volets Verts', in 2021.

According to the French press, the actor, who did not attend the hearing, will appeal the sentence.
