Eric Ascher, a family physician at Lenox Hill Hospital, explains that aerobic exercise, which includes jumping, has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system. He confirmed that getting your body moving by jumping can actually stimulate the lymphatic system, which in turn helps remove waste products from the body.
- This activity also stimulates the release of endorphins, chemicals that improve well-being and reduce stress - explains Dr. Ascher.
"Jumping up and down 50 times isn't exactly the peak of your training. But it's a good warm-up or way to wake up," he adds.
He suggests that jumping jacks can also be performed during breaks during the day.
