Myriam Hernández makes history in Viña del Mar with Gaviota de Platino

Singer Myriam Hernández made history this Tuesday at the Viña del Mar International Festival by being the first Chilean to receive its highest recognition, the Platinum Seagull , an award that places her on the short and exclusive list of those chosen, which includes stars such as Luis Miguel , Isabel Pantoja, Lucho Gatica and Los Jaivas.
Minutes later, she also announced that on May 23 she will become the first Chilean woman to perform at the National Stadium , the largest stage in the country.
"Congratulations to tonight's queen at Quinta Vergara . Only she can achieve this contact with the 'monster' (the name given to the demanding Viña del Mar public), who, if he doesn't kill you, makes you a queen," said the city's mayor, Macarena Ripamonti , when presenting the award to one of the most important voices of Spanish romantic music.

Visibly moved , Hernández thanked her parents, friends, musicians, the audience and her children, who came up on stage to accompany her after the performance , which opened the second day of the festival.
"I love you," declared the singer to the 15,000 spectators who were applauding her energetically from the stands of the emblematic stadium, whom she delighted by giving a surprise performance of 'Ay, amor', 'Huele a peligroso' and 'Herida', three of her most famous songs.
The audience at the largest cultural event in Latin America , excited and enthusiastic, returned the affection by singing the songs with the artist, who ended her show by unfurling a Chilean flag and hugging it.
The award, which also represents a tribute to the career and impact of the artists in the musical field, has previously been awarded to a select list of artists including Luis Miguel (2012), Isabel Pantoja (2017), Lucho Gatica (2019) and Los Jaivas (2023).
