The Teatro Colón inaugurates the AURA Cycle with the highly anticipated debut of Jonathan Tetelman.

This Sunday, the Teatro Colón will launch its AURA 2025 Series , a program that will bring together four of the most distinguished voices in international opera in an intimate piano recital format. Featuring historic debuts, internationally renowned figures, and an artistic approach that emphasizes intimacy and emotion, the program is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the Teatro Colón's musical season.
The series will open on August 17 with the Buenos Aires stage debut of Chilean-American tenor Jonathan Tetelman , accompanied by pianist Ángel Rodríguez . On September 14, it will be the turn of Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina , also making her debut at the Colón, alongside pianist Jonathan Papp. On October 20, the renowned Latvian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča will return, accompanied by Malcolm Martineau, one of the most sought-after pianists in the vocal repertoire. The series will conclude on December 3 with American soprano Nadine Sierra , alongside pianist Bryan Wagorn.
Unlike traditional opera productions, the AURA Series is characterized by the absence of scenery and costumes, offering an experience focused exclusively on vocal performance and direct interaction with the audience. The exceptional acoustics of the Colón auditorium reinforce this format, designed to highlight nuances and emotions in their purest form.
Pianist Ángel Rodríguez will accompany Tetelman.
