Zara continues its 50-year celebrations. These celebrations began in early 2025 with the '50 Years, 50 Icons' initiative, which brought together 50 iconic models from different generations— Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Irina Shayk , among others—in a campaign conceived by Steven Meisel. This was followed by the reissue of 50 pieces from the Zara archive and a series of events, parties, and openings to celebrate the five decades of the Inditex flagship.

In this year of celebration, the brand has now asked 50 friends, "50 of the most outstanding creatives today", as explained by the brand with names as well-known as Annie Leibovitz , Anna Sui, David Chipperfield, David Sims, Kate Moss, Marc Newson, Naomi Campbell, Nick Knight, Norman Foster, Pat McGrath, Pedro Almodóvar or Rosalía, who together with the Zara creative team have designed products such as jackets, bags, sleeping bags, chairs and even a pet carrier.

"It's an honor that these artists have chosen to celebrate our anniversary with us in this way," said Marta Ortega herself. "Each of them is a leader in their field for their imagination, innovation, and integrity. They share the same passions that Zara has had from the beginning: quality and a love of design," says the non-executive chairman of Inditex.

The selection of artists, “all friends of Zara,” reflects the brand’s evolution over the past five decades into a cultural powerhouse spanning fashion, beauty, interiors, and more. The roster includes filmmakers Pedro Almodóvar and Luca Guadagnino; photographers Annie Leibovitz, Craig McDean, David Bailey, David Sims, Javier Vallhonrat, Mario Sorrenti, Nick Knight, and Steven Meisel; design visionaries such as David Chipperfield, Norman Foster, Marc Newson, Vincent van Duysen, and Axel Vervoordt; pop icons such as Rosalía and Robbie Williams; fashion icons such as Anna Sui, Guido Palau, Harry Lambert, Pat McGrath, Pieter Mulier, Pierpaolo Piccioli, and Philip Treacy; and supermodels such as Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Karlie Kloss, and Kate Moss.

Each piece encapsulates the unique spirit of its creator. David Bailey, the photographer who captured the essence of the 1960s, presents his take on a bomber jacket, while stylist Harry Lambert , responsible for some of today's most iconic looks, shows off his signature wit with a button-covered hat. Kasing Lung reinterprets his globally beloved Labubu, turning him into a photographer. Pat McGrath , the most influential makeup artist of the last 30 years, designed a makeup bag, and Marc Newson, a pioneer of contemporary industrial design, created a series of drinking glasses. Steven Meisel, who has photographed many of Zara's most iconic campaigns, designed a stylish pet carrier.

"This project is Zara's latest initiative to highlight creativity and art," says the Inditex brand. Previous collaborations and campaigns with Meisel, Moss, Samuel Ross , and Vincent van Duysen have demonstrated its ambition to offer a global platform to unique visionaries.

This creative event for Zara's 50th anniversary will be presented to the public in a very special pop-up during Paris Fashion Week, taking place at 40 Avenue Georges V, from October 2 to 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Curated by Sarah Andelman, the space will bring together the 50 designs created for this celebration in an exhibition format, accompanied by a program of talks with some of the brand's 50 friends.

The collection will be available starting October 6 on Zara.com and in select stores, with all proceeds going to the Women's Earth Alliance , a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect the environment by empowering female leadership. Additionally, Zara will donate €20,000 to 50 charities chosen by the participating artists.
