Happy Met Monday to all who celebrate! That’s right, the day has finally arrived for the 2025 Met Gala. In a mere few hours, a plethora of the world’s finest (from the world of fashion, entertainment, and beyond) will descend upon The Metropolitan Museum of Art for what is now largely considered fashion’s splashiest night of the year. To commemorate such an occasion, we’re joining the watch party. Right here on theFashionSpot, you can watch the 2025 Met Gala red carpet live – all thanks to Vogue.

This year’s highly anticipated “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit is expected to examine “the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora.” The exhibit curated by Andrew Bolton will focus exclusively on menswear – the first since 2003. Monica Miller (Professor and Chair of Africana Studies at Barnard College, Columbia University) will serve as guest curator, as Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity served as inspiration. The exhibition will centre around the theme of Black Dandyism. The concept points to a style of dress adopted by enslaved Black men in the Americas and Europe from the 18th century to the present day.

For a number of years, Anna Wintour has turned the annual Met Gala event into fashion’s favorite spectator sport. Last year’s showcase granted us a significant amount of iconic fashion moments. You might not need reminding of Zendaya, who opted for not one but two breathtaking looks. The multi-faceted talent descended upon the event first by showcasing a striking ocean-blue gown by John Galliano for Maison Margiela. The undisputed style icon later ventured up the steps again in a black archival look from Givenchy’s Spring 1996 haute couture collection (designed by the late Alexander McQueen). To say the anticipation is at an all-time high for the 2025 Met Gala would be an understatement.
