Tyla Brought Back a Staple 2000s Sneaker for Coachella 2025 Rehearsals

Tyla is busy prepping for her Coachella 2025 set, and she's doing so in throwback comfort.

The singer, who loves to incorporate Y2K elements into her outfits and aesthetic, showed off a pair of old-school sneakers on Instagram Stories as she gave fans a peek into her rehearsal process. No, she's not wearing the ever-popular Adidas Sambas, Superstars, or Gazelles; instead, Tyla slipped on an equally comfy pair of Nikes: the Total 90.

The Total 90 sneaker debuted in 2000 as a soccer sneaker, but the version everyone wore out and about and is making a comeback does not have cleats. Instead, it's a regular sneaker with a rubber sole, so it's perfect for practicing dance steps on a desert stage. Tyla's shoes were a shiny metallic silver with a quilted top and a large, circular red “90” patch on one side, plus a black sole. The sneakers retail for $110 and are currently sold out on Nike's website but keep an eye out for them.

Rehearsals are all about comfort and ease, so Tyla wore a pair of loose, oversized sweatpants and a matching gray T-shirt for her practice session. In the pic, she's taking a quick break but still clutching her microphone with long, yellow-manicured nails.

This is Tyla's first Coachella performance; she was set to take the stage last year but had to cancel due to an injury. To say we're excited to see her set is an understatement; she's one of our favorite performers and style inspos. She performs on the first night of the festival, first on April 11 and then again on April 18.

Lady Gaga is the headliner that evening, and Missy Elliott also performs, so it's going to be a night packed with fashion inspo and great music.
