TSITP Star Lola Tung Completed Her Y2K Look With This Edgy Jewelry Brand — See Photos

While everyone is still talking about Belly's engagement ring from The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3, the show's star, Lola Tung, is flipping it and reversing in real life, opting for larger-than-life jewelry during her press appearances.

On July 30, 2025, Lola Tung attended the Prime Book Club Live event in Sydney, Australia, alongside TSITP creator Jenny Han and costar Rain Spencer. Tung arrived at the event's Machine Hall location clad in a Y2K-inspired ‘fit that’s totally reminding us of Jennifer Garner's iconic Versace look from 13 Going on 30.

Instead of the classic colorful pick from Versace's spring 2003 collection, Tung opted for a slip dress made of purple tulle and embroidered sequin blue flowers from Italian fashion house Blumarine. Her dress also featured a beaded fringed trim at the hem. She paired the look with white slip-on pumps.

Much like Garner's dress in the movie, Tung's also featured thin straps and a scoop neck, and it also hit mid-thigh for a mini feel. Aiding the Y2K feel, Tung styled her hair in a spiky updo with a slicked side part, with pieces of her chignon peeking through the crown of her head.

To counteract the air of nostalgia in her ‘fit, Tung decided to add the ultimate cool-girl element with her accessories — particularly her earrings, which, unlike Belly’s minimalist engagement rings, fall more towards the maximalist style.

For the occasion, Tung rocked a pair of silver serpent hoops from Panconesi, an independent jewelry brand founded in 2019 by Italian designer Marco Panconesi, who got his start working under Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy before moving on to Balenciaga, Mulberry, Fenty, and more.

Pierced Serpent Hoops Silver

Tung's earrings, one of Panconesi's signature styles, feature a curved design with added “pierced” hoops throughout the main body of the jewelry for a trompe-l'œil. While Tung favored the silver pair, the brand also sells the style in gold and multi options, in case you are all about the mixed metal lifestyle.

According to the designer's website, Panconesi's pieces are designed in Paris and then crafted by artisans from family-owned workshops in Florence and Arezzo. The pieces are made from gold and rhodium-plated copper, so wearers should avoid contact with water and be mindful of skin sensitivities. If you love the serpent design but the added pierced details are too much for your style, you'll be pleased to know the brand also has a pierceless version, which is available on SSENSE.

The bold earrings are the latest example of Lola Tung's evolving style. As she graduates from playing Belly, the star has been favoring bolder and grander looks. In the past few weeks, Tung also made a case for denim on denim, which she completed with a smaller pair of Panconesi pierced hoops, which featured an extra zirconia barbell.

The star also wore a pair of Diamond Serpent earrings from the brand to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, featuring a diamond stud, which you can see above. It's safe to assume that ever since getting her helix piercing, Tung has been on a jewelry kick, and she seems to have found her favorite brand!
