The 6 Best Bluetooth Shower Speakers That Can Get Wet and Keep Rocking

- Clip is convenient for a shower
- Great waterproofing
- Large buttons make it easy to control music without your phone
- Plenty of bright color options
- Sound could be better, but that's limited by size
- The clip can be a bit tough to detach
We've already written at length about why we love this thing. It's small, but it's got big sound. The highs are crisp enough to cut through the noise of a shower. The bass is big enough to fill the space, but it's obviously not going to shake the house. The waterproofing is great, and there are plenty of color options to match whatever look you're going for.
Also, we have to shout out the on-device experience. The buttons are massive! It's perfect for when you're in the shower, away from your phone, and you want to skip, replay, or pause. Every shape is distinct, so you can control it with your eyes closed. It makes a huge difference in the shower.

- Mighty audio for small, portable size
- Superb sound quality
- Easy to connect and clip to things
- Poor battery life for the price
- We found it a bit difficult to clean, with little crevices
- Doesn't use USB-C charging
Bose is known for great-sounding speakers, which, if you're fancy, you can set up in your bathroom. If this little speaker is up to the task of entertaining an outdoor party—especially with its crisp, balanced sound and deep bass—it's certainly up to supplying you with immersive music while you shower. The SoundLink Micro is fully waterproof and has a strap you can use to hang it up.
We love the form factor of this speaker, too. Unfortunately, charging is the kicker here. The battery life isn't that great for a speaker over $100, so expect to have to charge this one a little more than the others. And no, it doesn't support the now ubiquitous USB-C charging. This is a bit of an older model, so Micro USB was still in fashion when it was released. A bit of a hassle when all our other devices use something else.
Finally, there are a few crevices on the back that we found a bit tricky. If it gets wet, make sure you clean it thoroughly.

- Variety of subtle color options
- Incredibly long battery life
- Deep bass and crisp highs
- Lets you connect multiple UE speakers
- Too reliant on an app
- Doesn't sound as good as other UE speakers
Ultimate Ears has become known (around the Esquire office at least) as a great pick for waterproof speakers. We've loved many over the years, but the latest is the clear winner when it comes to shower speakers. The Wonderboom 4 pumps out quality audio with rich bass and a compact form factor we are finally stoked to hang in our shower. Using it is as easy as pressing the large plus and minus buttons.
You can even buy two and link them together for surround sound in your bathroom, if your bathroom calls for that. At that point, though, you are getting pretty reliant on the Wonderboom app. Somehow it's 2025, and app experiences are still so hit-and-miss.
The other big plus is the battery life. If you tend to forget to keep a speaker charged, this is the one that'll be the best for you long-term.

- Pristine, self-tuning audio
- Surprisingly small size
- Connects to your household audio system
- Expensive, unless you use it for more than showering
- Not the most friendly button design
If you're already tapped into the Sonos ecosystem, you won't need much convincing here. The Roam 2 is the brand's premiere waterproof smart speaker. It's not as small as some of these other options, but it's perfectly portable. Great for the beach and pool parties, too. A real all-arounder.
If you aren't already Sonos pilled, believe us when we say the audio is crisp, the companion app is actually useful, and the diminutive, streamlined design is ideal for any trip—yes, even including trips to the bathroom for long, hot showers accompanied by your favorite soundtrack. Just admit you're still listening to Wicked like we are.

- The best-looking option on this list
- Portable but powerful enough for outdoor use
- Easy-to-use top button
- Pricey; it should be more than a shower speaker
- Faux-leather trim requires a little extra care
If you want a speaker to pull double duty—that is, as a shower speaker and a general waterproof Bluetooth speaker—Marshall's Emberton is our pick. While the Emberton III is the newest, shiniest model, the extra handful hours of battery life are not worth the price difference. For between $30 and $50 less, you can still get the last-gen Emberton. The retro look will always impress, the IPX7 rating ensures it will keep water out, and the rich sound will work anywhere. It looks gorgeous. It sounds gorgeous. What else do you need?
The only hesitation we have with this one is the vegan-leather trim. It's not real leather, so we've found that it doesn't get damaged in the same way, but we would still advise additional care. If it gets wet, towel it off, but other than that it'll be fine.

- Comes attached to a showerhead
- Aesthetically pleasing with quality audio
- Simple setup
- Build makes for better sound—music is directed at you
- Luxury pricing
- Removing it to charge was a tad annoying
- Doesn't really have any other uses
Kohler knows its way around a bathroom fixture. A speaker, not so much. So it leaned on Harman Kardon—the Rolls-Royce of high-fidelity speaker manufacturers—to supply that technology inside its Moxie showerhead. It's the most literal take on "shower speaker" on this list, and you'll feel the playlist blast from above, just like in a club—a real mood-swaying experience. It's a unique pick but one we couldn't help but include.
It's a bit more flawed than some other picks, but guess what? We loved the sound, and the fact that it comes from the showerhead makes it perfect for this one scenario. Showering. The music is directed at you, and the speaker is in the shower itself. It doesn't get more convenient than that ... with a caveat.
Our only gripe was with charging. It's tough, because every model on this list requires charging. But with this one, you pull it out of the showerhead and then place the already bulky speaker on the bulky dock to charge it. With pretty average battery life, this can become a pain quick.

Ulimate Ears Boom 3: It may be a bit outdated and not entirely meant for showers, but this is still one of our waterproof favorites. It has incredible durability and excellent battery life, and it sounds even better than the Wonderboom 4.
Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 (2nd Generation): Bang & Olufsen is simply the best when it comes to premium sound for audiophiles. This small, portable, waterproof speaker isn't even that expensive if you take advantage of Amazon's current discount.
Bose SoundLink Flex: If you're really into everything we said about the SoundLink Micro but refuse to use a Micro USB charging cable, this is the shower speaker for you. It also boasts nearly double the battery life.

Waterproof rating: Anything that is going to sit in your shower should be rated IP67 or IPX7. At IP67 (IPX7 is an unofficially tested version of the same rating), a speaker is dustproof and can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes. You don't necessarily need that in a shower speaker. But it's the best waterproofing you can get and is so easy to find that there's no reason not to get something that tough.
Size: To be a shower speaker, it has to be physically small. We gave preference to models with a clip mechanism of some sort or with a vertical orientation and small footprint.
Looks: Sounds weird, sure. But we believe you should never buy anything that is ugly. We all need to be surrounded by more beauty, and the shower is not a place we make an exception to that rule.
Versatility: Another thing we rate highly is the ability to be more than a shower speaker. Our top three picks—the Ultimate Ears, Marshall, and Sonos options—are all powerful enough to anchor a pool kick-back or beach day. Sure, they'll cost more. But they sound better, and you get more use out of them. Worth it in our book.
