Strictly Come Dancing fans shocked after Alex Kingston performs to X-rated song

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left shocked and amused after Alex Kingston performed to a somewhat X-rated song during Saturday night's edition of the competition. The actress, who is known for her roles in Doctor Who and ER, took to the stage during Halloween Week to perform the Salsa with professional partner Johannes Radebe.

The TV star and her partner were dressed as devils for the performance, which eventually scored them a combined total of 35 from judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke. But it was the song choice that caught the attention of viewers at home.

The pair showcased their moves to the track Horny, originally released by Mousse T. in 1998. Following their performance, Shirley said: "I'm jealous, I wanna get up there. Horny, horny, horny, honey! I have never seen that kind of rotation!" Equally as impressed, Anton said: "Yes, yes yes! Oh man alive!"

Fans at home were quick to respond to the moment, with one writing: "Alex and Johannes dancing to Horny….. Saturday nights have NEVER been camper," and another said: "Horny fun! Another fantastic dance from Alex and Johannes. Devilishly good."

A third said: "I'm Horny being the background music to a performance on #BBCStrictly was NEVER on my bingo card, but Alex & Johannas' - Salsa performance was absolutely genius & it worked so well! I would love to see it being scored in the 30+points."

Another one wrote: "i’m sorry horny is a WILD song choice," and another simply said: "What an interesting song choice for Halloween week!" Another viewer wrote: "I love Alex Kingston but this song choice is KILLING me

But further surprise came when Alex decided to dedicate the dance to those in her hometown. She said: "Hello everybody in my local pub, and the village hall, that was for you. I was super out of my comfort zone. My gosh, I've never done anything like that!"

In response, one fan wrote on X: "Obsessed with Alex Kingston looking like a sexy devilish seductress dedicating a "I'M SO HORNY" salsa TO HER WHOLESOME VILLAGE," and another said: "Dedicating a dance to the song "Horny" to the quaint little village you reside in might be the funniest thing Alex has done yet."

This week marked the second time hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman had been seen on screen together since news of their exit was made public. Just over a fortnight ago, the pair they unleashed the bombshell news that they would be leaving the programme after 15 years at the end of this series.

In the initial announcement, which consisted of a video of the pair sitting next to one another, Claudia began with: "Hi it's Claud and Tess. There have been some rumblings and we want you to hear this from us..."

Tess added: "Yeah we have news. After 21 wonderfully joyful years on Strictly we have decided the time is right to step aside and pass on the baton..."

"The very sparkly baton..." Claudia continued before she turned to Tess and said: "You've been here since the beginning..." Tess, who used to host the show with the late Bruce Forsyth, then replied: "2004 with Brucey – lovely Bruce.

"That's over two decades ago and a lot of that time has been with you. It's been a huge part of our lives, hasn't it? Since our children were literally babes in arms and now they're young adults and I think, genuinely we have cherished every second."

Claudia added: "We have, we're so lucky to have been part of this amazing show and we just want to thank the Strictly team because Strictly is the people who make it so thank you..." Tess agreed: "They are the very best team in television we've been so lucky.

"And the audience as well, they've been so wonderful. They've been with us for this entire journey of 21 years and we wouldn't have a show without them and they've been just so loyal and supportive."
