The White Lotus Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

There are White Lotus resorts in Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand. (With, of course, several bodies—but also revelry!—in their histories.) But soon, a whole new branch will open in France.
Following a divisive third season that took place in Ko Samui, Thailand, a fourth season of the HBO dark comedy The White Lotus is on the way. A new report from Deadline indicates the story will take place in France. By now, you'd think that a string of murders might affect the reputation of the five-star White Lotus resorts. But every season of Mike White’s HBO comedy seems to operate on the idea that what happens at the White Lotus, stays at the White Lotus. Greg can murder his wife at the White Lotus in Sicily and then pack his bags for a stay at the White Lotus in Thailand. Piece of cake.
HBO renewed the series for season 4 before White decided who would be checking out of Thailand in a body bag. We won’t reveal the shocking deaths here, but I still wish the monkeys were involved somehow. For now, I’ll just need to heed the lessons of the Buddhist monks in season 3 and embrace the chaos of life. To keep the mystery alive, let’s chart a course for season 4.
Where Will The White Lotus Season 4 Take Place? On September 4, Deadline reported from its sources that The White Lotus season 4 will take place in France. Where in France is yet to be revealed, as are the shooting locations. However, HBO's existing partnership with the Four Seasons suggests that creator Mike White will take his crew to one of several famous Four Seasons branches in the region.
Where Is The White Lotus Season 4 Filmed? It is currently unknown where, exactly, The White Lotus season 4 will shoot its episodes.
Deadline reports from its anonymous sources that the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons branch near the French Riviera, is a possible shooting location. Other candidates include the Megève in the French Alps and Hotel George V, which is in the middle of Paris.
It's unknown if The White Lotus will keep up its taste for exotic getaways, or make a slight turn and follow characters in the heart of a bustling metropolis like Paris. In an "Unpacking the Episode" breakdown that aired after the season 3 finale, series creator Mike White said he “want[s] to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular” for the next season.
Prior to season 3, White reportedly reached out to the Norwegian Film Institute for a grant to film a season of The White Lotus in Norway. Based on the new rumors however, it seems unlikely that season 4 will shoot in Norway. (The Four Seasons does not have a destination in Scandinavia.) Plus, according to producer David Bernad, “Mike does not like the cold.” As he told The Bill Simmons Podcast, “[White] is a California guy. He is not built for the cold. Never say never, but I would be surprised.”
Fueling all the speculation that The White Lotus is headed to France, HBO programming executive Francesca Oris told reporters at the season 3 premiere that “I can’t really say where we’re going to land, but chances are somewhere in Europe.”
Who Will Return for The White Lotus Season 4?Spa manager Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) and Greg (Jon Gries) are the only two surviving characters who have appeared in multiple seasons so far. They both have the opportunity to check into another White Lotus resort for season 4. So far, no one has been confirmed to return.

Will Greg (Jon Gries) survive season 3?
Though there was only a year in between season 1 and season 2, we waited over two years for The White Lotus to return for season 3. Several factors were to blame, including the Covid-19 pandemic and the writers strike. Still, I wouldn’t imagine season 4 airing anytime before late 2026 or sometime in 2027. Until then, maybe you deserve some time at a real White Lotus resort yourself.
