I’m Already In Autumn Mode: 7 Elegant Outfit Ideas I’ve Just Added to My Moodboard

It might seem a bit odd to even mention autumn while we’re in the middle of a heatwave; however, knowing how unpredictable the weather can be here in the UK, it’s never a bad time to start thinking about the chic outfits we’re going to wear when the temperature inevitably drops. I’ve personally already started to save outfits that I’ve spotted on my favourite Instagram influencers, with plans to recreate them when the autumnal season comes around. And I must admit, they have me wishing away the warmer days and looking forward to the change of season.
For autumn 2025 specifically, fashion people are focusing on creating looks that still feel elevated and chic, but with a touch of ease. Think oversized chunky knits paired with trendy barrel-leg trousers or sophisticated slip skirts worn with a relaxed car coat. It’s all about looking classy and refined whilst feeling effortless, something that I’m sure we all want to emulate this season.
If you, too, are looking for autumn outfit inspo that exudes equal parts ease and elegance, keep scrolling, as I’ve rounded up seven outfit ideas to re-create in the upcoming autumn season.
7 Elegant Outfit Ideas I’ve Added to My Autumn MoodboardStyle Notes: Chocolate brown has my heart again this autumn, and I’m planning to re-create this pairing of the chunky crew-neck jumper and barrel-leg trousers as soon as I possibly can. Add some contrasting leather accessories to break up the brown, and you’ll be set.

Dress up this relaxed style with an elegant slip skirt and strappy heels, and finish off the look with some sleek sunnies to give the outfit an ‘off-duty model’ vibe.
Shop the Look:Style Notes: A trench coat is a London-girl staple, and as Marina (pictured above) proves, it doesn’t need much to make it look stylish. A simple white tee, a pair of light-wash jeans, and some black ankle boots are enough to let this timeless staple do the talking.
Shop the Look:Style Notes: A throw-on knit dress will serve you well on those days when you don’t know what to wear. Pair it with a tonal coat and some knee-high heeled boots to keep the maxi hemline off the floor.
Shop the Look:Style Notes: When you want to look put-together with minimal effort, simply throw on a boxy blazer and tailored wide-leg trousers. Then, add a white fitted t-shirt and leather ballet flats to add to the pared-back vibe of the outfit,
Shop the Look:Style Notes: I've been all about skirts this year, and this definitely isn’t changing for autumn. However, unlike the billowy white skirts I opted for in summer, I’m now looking to deeper colours like charcoal grey to fit the mood of the season. Take a cue from Annabel (pictured above) and style the more structured skirt with a striped chunky knit and soft suede accessories.
Shop the Look:Style Notes: When jeans feel too casual, fashion people turn to satin trousers that feel just as comfy but can also be dressed up for more formal occasions. Pair a rich brown shade with a classic white roll-neck jumper and then add some leopard shoes for a touch of fun.
