Bella Hadid Approved the TikTok-Viral Tankini Trend for Summer 2025

Summer 2025 is right around the corner. Luckily, Bella Hadid just dropped some tankini trend inspo to help us get our swimsuit collections in order.

On April 15, the model posted a carousel of photos to her Instagram account. While there was much to take in, we couldn’t help but find ourselves stuck on the first photo again and again to get a better look at Hadid’s tankini. She wore a long white sleeveless top with a baby blue pattern on it and a pair of matching bottoms.

This wouldn’t be the first time Hadid rocked a tankini. She recently launched three tankinis — a split-hem suede top, a plaid halter, and a duochrome corset — in her Frankies Bikinis x Bella Hadid collab collection, modeling two of them herself. While the tankini trend caught some wind on TikTok last year and this spring, Hadid giving it her stamp of approval sets it up to be one of the buzziest swimwear styles of the season.

What is a tankini?

The tankini is another big trend to come out of the Y2K resurgence that has been taking over fashion. The style was ultra popular in the late ‘90s and ‘00s, and like other trends from that era such as bayonetta glasses and wearing skirts over pants its seeing a comeback. In addition to having a nostalgic yet trendy feel, the tankini also offers a bit more coverage compared to typical bikinis, making it a more comfortable choice for some.

How to style a tankini?

There are multiple ways to style a tankini. Try matching bottoms for cohesion, or mix and match for something fun (and don't be afraid to mix patterns!). You can lean into the Y2K feel with wedge or platform sandals or sneakers and big or ultra thin sunglasses.
