The cause of death of 95-year-old Gene Hackman , who died in his mansion in Santa Fe, New Mexico, was officially announced two months after his death. The body of his wife, Betsy Arakawa , was also found next to Gene Hackman.

IT WAS UNDERSTOOD THAT THEY DIED 1 WEEK APART

Investigations revealed that Hackman's wife Arakawa died about a week before the Oscar-winning actor. It was noted that Hackman may have been unaware of her husband's death due to his advanced Alzheimer's disease.

The report detailed Hackman's entire medical history. It was reported that Gene Hackman had a "history of congestive heart failure" and "severe chronic hypertensive changes and renal disease." According to the autopsy, the actor, who has been living with a pacemaker since April 2019, was found to have "neurological deterioration consistent with Alzheimer's disease."

HANTAVIRUS TEST COMES NEGATIVE

At autopsy, it was found that he had had a previous aortic valve replacement, as well as coronary artery stents and new vessels, and that he had severe arteriosclerosis and hypertensive heart disease.

Gene Hackman's brain scan showed microscopic evidence of advanced Alzheimer's disease. The actor's hantavirus test came back negative. In other words, it was determined that Hackman was not infected with the virus that caused his wife's death.
