The sea season has opened, competition has begun

The swimming season begins in Aktau, a city in western Kazakhstan, in June. Located on the Caspian Sea coast, Aktau is known as the only official seaside resort in the country. The swimming season in the city, which has sandy beaches, begins in early June and continues until the end of September.

Compared to Rixos hotels in Egypt, prices are at closer levels. A similar holiday at Rixos Sharm El Sheikh costs around 245.8 thousand rubles, while prices in other Egyptian hotels range from 257 to 271 thousand rubles.

The average air temperature in the summer months is around 27-29 degrees, while it can rise to 35-40 degrees in July and August. The sea water temperature reaches 19 degrees at the beginning and end of the season and 25 degrees in the middle.

According to the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR), there are various hotels in Aktau, but the most notable one is the Rixos Water World Aktau, the only luxury beach hotel in Kazakhstan. According to tour operators, demand for the Rixos Water World Aktau hotel for this summer season has increased compared to last year.

Anex says that there have been twice as many reservations this year compared to last year. The hotel is preferred because of its ease of access, family-friendly services and price advantage. The facility has facilities such as heated pools, water slides, a spa centre and an amusement park called Tetys Blu.

Compared to Rixos hotels in Egypt, prices are at closer levels. A similar holiday at Rixos Sharm El Sheikh costs around 245.8 thousand rubles, while prices in other Egyptian hotels range from 257 to 271 thousand rubles.

There has been no major increase in prices compared to last year. Coral Travel states that the average price increase is around 10 percent. PEGAS Touristik states that the hotel has only renewed some areas that needed it before the new season and that there have been no major changes.

This summer season, tour operators have planned direct flights to Aktau from different cities. Anex has booked block seats for Red Wings flights from Yekaterinburg and Kazan. These flights will run from the end of May to the end of September. Trips from Moscow are scheduled flights.

Looking at current prices for the summer of 2025, Anex’s tours start from 248 thousand rubles departing from Moscow, 214 thousand rubles departing from Yekaterinburg, and 203 thousand rubles departing from Kazan. Coral Travel says a 7-night stay with arrival on June 21 costs 188.7 thousand rubles, and in addition, plane tickets cost around 70 thousand rubles. FUN&SUN has offered a 9-night stay with departure on June 1 for 288 thousand rubles.
