Mustafa Sandal apologizes for his comments at the Izmir concert

Mustafa Sandal came under fire for remarks he made to the stage manager during his concert at the Izmir International Fair on September 5th. He drew criticism for telling the manager, who repeatedly showed him on the stage screen , "Son, just keep an eye on him. Are you an idiot? You're always on me."

The famous singer made a statement and apologized for this incident at her concert in Bursa the previous evening.

Sandal said, "I've performed at over three thousand concerts. Everyone knows my role as a big brother to my orchestra, my band, and my technical team. We're human, too, and we can get frustrated sometimes. I ran into my friend Batuhan, a member of the young technical team, for the first time in Izmir. I said something inappropriate and hurt his feelings. He's there to elevate our light. I apologize to my brother Batuhan in the presence of you all."

Following the incident, the All Event Technologies Sector Association (TETSED) issued a written statement reacting to the situation. The statement included the following:

We were saddened and shocked to learn that Mustafa Sandal, performing at the Çim Concerts held in Izmir on September 5th, insulted a stagehand who was duly performing his duties by calling him an "idiot." Attempting to direct the "following spotlight," which is responsible for following the artist, to "turn it towards the audience" not only disregards this work but also demonstrates a lack of basic technical knowledge. It is completely unacceptable for an artist to insult a stagehand who has made them visible. This approach is a profound disrespect not only to the individual involved, but to all stagehands.
