Life expectancy in Europe rises to 81.7 years

The European Statistics Office (Eurostat) has published data on life expectancy in EU countries for 2024. According to the data, life expectancy in EU countries increased by 0.3 years last year compared to the previous year, reaching 81.7 years. The longest life expectancy in EU countries was determined in Italy and Sweden with 84.1 years, Spain with 84 years, Luxembourg with 83.5 years, and Malta with 83.3 years. Life expectancy was 83.1 years in France and 81.5 years in Germany, while the lowest was recorded in Bulgaria with 75.9 years, Romania with 76.6 years, and Latvia with 76.7 years.
