Investigation into boycott call: Prison sentence sought for Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu and 20 others

The indictment, which noted that the defendants were believed to have aimed to disrupt the Turkish economy for political and social reasons, and that they acted out of hatred, stated that there was sufficient suspicion that they had committed the crime of "hate and discrimination."
The indictment states that the defendants, through their posts calling for the cessation of all consumption, boycotts, and the closure of all businesses, openly incited a segment of the population with different characteristics in terms of social class to hatred and hostility against another segment. It is noted that the posts created a trending topic among the public, in written form, and on social media, and subsequently created an alarming effect in the eyes of those provoked, posing a clear and imminent danger to public safety.
