Famous actor faces judge on rape charge

Actor and comedian Russell Brand appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on charges of rape, indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault involving four women.

At the hearing, which took place on 2 May 2025, it was alleged that the offences in question were committed in Bournemouth and Westminster between 1999 and 2005. Brand stated that he denied all the charges and would defend himself in court.
