A village steeped in history in Artvin: Century-old houses have become a favorite among photography enthusiasts.

The houses in the village's Öteki Bağlığı neighborhood, where access is limited to paths, were constructed with great effort, using the resources available at the time. The locals erected these houses by carrying stone blocks on their backs.

Built on stone foundations, the structures used only juniper. The two- or three-story houses include barns and pergolas. The lower floors were generally used as animal shelters, while the upper floors served as living spaces and storage areas.

The neighborhood, which ceased to be a permanent living space over time, is now used for short-term accommodation during the olive picking and irrigation seasons.
Visible from the highway thanks to their hillside location, the houses have also attracted the attention of photography enthusiasts in recent years. The historic stone and wooden structures have become a popular destination for nature and photography enthusiasts visiting the area.

Local resident Uğur Çelik said, "This is a village vineyard established years ago in the Çoruh River valley, primarily for olive cultivation. Access to these houses is only by footpaths. Everything you see here is a structure people built by carrying on their backs."
