Another emotional afternoon in the Premier League. After the opening match of the first round, between Liverpool and Bournemouth, brought tears to the eyes of every fan, this Saturday was no different before the start of the Wolverhampton-Manchester City match, with Rute Cardoso, Diogo Jota's widow, in attendance alongside Rúben Neves, an Al Hilal player who was one of the former Portuguese international's best friends. Diogo Jota and André Silva's parents were also at Molineux Stadium.

Tributes to Diogo Jota have been made across all English Premier League stadiums, but nothing like this one at Molineux. The stands performed a choreography and a 'tifo' featuring the image of the former Portuguese international and a slogan that read: "We will remember you when you walk on the golden fields," a reference to the color of the kit of the team managed by Vítor Pereira.

Diogo Jota and André Silva, it should be remembered, died following a violent traffic accident on July 3rd. The former, everything indicates, was driving a high-powered car in the Spanish region of Zamora when, while trying to overtake, a tire burst, causing him to lose control of the car, crashing into the central partition and causing an explosion that killed both.

The 28-year-old Portuguese international was returning from a wedding at the time and was heading to Santander, where he would catch a ferry to Plymouth, with the aim of joining the Reds' pre-season training, as he had been advised against flying due to recent lung surgery.
