Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom 'break their silence'. "The priority is the daughter"

Despite no longer being romantically linked, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have changed the direction of their relationship to one of co-parenting - with a focus on their daughter.

After rumors of their separation and People confirming the information with a source, the now ex-couple 'broke their silence' through their representatives.

This Thursday, July 3, representatives for the singer, 40, and the actor, 48, officially confirmed the couple's separation in a statement that People had access to.

"Due to the heightened interest and recent conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives can confirm that Orlando and Katy have been transitioning their relationship over the past few months to focus on co-parenting their daughter," they wrote in a statement.

"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their priority is - and will always be - to raise their daughter [Daisy Dove, 4] with love, stability and mutual respect," they added.

The nine-year love story that has come to an end

It was last June that the first news of Kate Perry and Orlando Bloom's separation began to emerge. After TMZ was the first to report the rumors, People was able to confirm the information.

The couple met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016 and were together for nine years (with a few 'interruptions' in between). They got engaged in 2019.

After meeting in 2016, they went public with their relationship on Instagram in May of that same year, after being together at the Cannes Film Festival. The following year, in February 2017 to be precise, they revealed that they were separated. However, at the time, they remained friends and later ended up getting back together.

In February 2018, a source told People that the stars were spending time together, and months later, in September, they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Global Ocean Gala at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo in Monaco. A year later, on Valentine's Day in 2019, the actor got down on one knee and proposed to the singer.

The couple had planned to tie the knot in early summer 2020 in Japan, but the pandemic changed their plans and they ended up postponing the wedding. Even so, they still had a unique moment that year.

It was in August 2020 that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed their first and only child together, little Daisy Dove, aged four. The little girl joined the actor's eldest son, Flynn, who is currently 14 years old, from Orlando Bloom's past relationship with Miranda Kerr.

Now, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have decided to go their separate ways, but they will remain united by their daughter.
