Juju Salimeni's statement about Carnival 2026

Juju Salimeni's participation in São Paulo's Carnival continues to be intense and full of energy. Current drum queen of Barroca Zona Sul, the model was one of the most celebrated presences during the school's 51st anniversary party, held last Sunday (10), in São Paulo. The event brought together representatives from various groups and served as a symbolic milestone for the start of preparations for the 2026 parades.
Barroca Zona Sul, which came in 12th place last Carnival with the theme "Os nove oruns de Iansã," already has its theme set for next year: "ORO MI MAIÓ OXUM," developed by Pedro Alexandre, aka Magoo. The green and pink group will be the last to parade on the first night of the Special Group, on Friday (February 13), at the Anhembi Sambadrome.
During the celebration, Juju paraded in a golden costume covered in rhinestones and fringes, which highlighted her physique. She interacted with the audience and sambaed alongside the community. In an enthusiastic mood, the queen summarized her involvement with the school: "I'm already addicted and in love with samba. Oh, my God, my mother Oxum."
In addition to her commitment to Barroca, Juju also pays close attention to her own physical preparation, which needs to be adjusted to the routine of her boyfriend, bodybuilder Diogo Basaglia. During the "Baile do BB" (BB Ball), held on Monday (August 18), she discussed how the couple organizes themselves to stay focused without overloading both with simultaneous workouts and diets.
"I'm going to wait a little while to prepare for Carnival, because he (Diogo) is preparing now. He's going to Las Vegas (USA) to compete in the Mr. Olympia, which is the biggest championship in the world, it's the World Cup for athletes. When his preparation is over, mine begins."
According to Juju, the secret lies in discipline throughout the year, which allows for specific adjustments in the final phase. "I'm doing really well. We maintain it and then just make some adjustments."
She also emphasized that consistency is key to avoiding burnout during preparation: "There's no time of year when I say, 'I'm going to give up.' Neither does he, they're both like that. We stay consistent the whole time."
Thus, Juju continues to balance her intense training routine, her event schedule and her commitment to samba, consolidating her position as one of the most prominent figures in the current São Paulo Carnival.
