Discover the foods that should not be cooked with beans

Who doesn't love fresh beans? They're one of the most common staples on Brazilian tables, but not everything pairs well with them when preparing them. According to nutritionist Cibele Santos , some ingredients, if cooked with beans , can affect both digestion and the final result of the dish.
Cibele lists five foods that deserve attention and should be avoided during cooking:
1. Dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt) The combination can cause digestive discomfort. " Digestion times are different, and together they can ferment in the stomach, causing gas and discomfort," explains the nutritionist.
2. Very fatty meats (such as bacon and sausage) Despite being popular, these meats make the dish heavy and difficult to digest. " Excess fat hinders the digestive process and can cause a feeling of bloating," he warns.
3. Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage) According to the expert, these vegetables, when cooked with beans, also promote gas formation . "They ferment in the intestine and, combined with beans, can worsen the discomfort."

5. Excess garlic and onion Common in bean seasoning, they can cause problems if used in large quantities. "Excess can irritate the stomach and intensify the side effects of beans, such as gas and bloating," explains Cibele.
The nutritionist reminds us that everyone's body reacts differently, and that it's best to observe how your body responds to the combinations. "A professional can help you adjust your diet without sacrificing flavor and digestive comfort," she concludes.
