Resident summons 400,000 people to concert at the Zócalo

Puerto Rican rapper Residente performed a free concert Saturday night at the Zócalo in Mexico City , in front of more than 400,000 fans, including those in attendance and those watching the live stream. The event became one of the largest in the history of this iconic venue.
With a repertoire full of lyrical power , social criticism and overwhelming energy, Residente transformed the Zócalo into a stage of unity, resistance and celebration of Latin American identity .
Songs like Latinoamérica , Darle la vuelta al mundo , René and This is not America were sung by an unprecedented crowd.
EmotionalOne of the most emotional moments of the night occurred when Mexican singer-songwriter Silvana Estrada accompanied Residente in the performance of Latinoamérica .

The artist also invited members of the Abed family , who arrived in Mexico from Gaza in May of this year, onto the stage in a gesture of solidarity that moved the audience. Hundreds of thousands of spectators responded with shouts of "Free Palestine!"
- The concert was organized by the Mexico City Ministry of Culture as part of its program of free cultural activities open to the public. Due to its scale and attendance, this performance has been classified as the largest in the history of the capital's Zócalo .
