Lin Manuel Miranda and Ariana DeBose will be recognized

The New York-based Hispanic Organization of Latino Actors ( HOLA ) will recognize actor Lin Manuel Miranda , creator of the musicals "Hamilton" and "In the Heights," with its highest honor, the Hola Founders Raúl Julia Award, during its annual gala on October 13, on his 50th anniversary .
Miranda will receive the award—named after the late Puerto Rican actor—for his transformative contributions to the performing arts and his unwavering commitment to promoting Latino voices in theater, film, and television.
That day, Ariana DeBose , who won the coveted Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Anita in 'West Side Story,' will receive the HOLA Rita Moreno Award for Excellence, an award that recognizes her talent, achievements, and commitment to promoting Latina representation in the entertainment industry.
"For half a century, HOLA has been dedicated to amplifying the presence of Latino and Hispanic artists in the entertainment industry by advancing them through education, empowerment, development, advocacy, and community building," Pablo Andrade, the organization's executive director, said in a statement.
"Paying tribute to Lin Manuel Miranda and this inspiring group of creators reaffirms our mission: to celebrate those who not only transform the arts, but also pave the way for future generations," he said.
Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Joy Huertas , who wrote the songs for ' Real Women Have Curves - The Musical ' which opened on Broadway this year, will receive the HOLA Award for Excellence in Music.
The singer-songwriter became the first Mexican to write the original score for a Broadway musical and received a Tony nomination for her stage debut.
- The Elizabeth Peña Breakthrough Artist award will go to Leonardo Reyna , from the musical ' Buena Vista Social Club ', which also debuted on Broadway this year.
The INTAR company will receive the HOLA Award for Excellence in Theater for its artistic legacy, on the eve of celebrating the group's 60th anniversary and for the "historic appointment" this season of Nidia Medina as the first woman to assume the company's artistic direction, the statement further highlights.
The HOLA Awards celebrate exceptional achievements in theater, film, television, streaming platforms, media, and other performing arts disciplines.
Past honorees include Alfred Molina , Alfonso Cuarón, Andy García, Antonio Banderas, Benicio del Toro, Chita Rivera, Héctor Elizondo, León Ichaso, Rita Moreno, Rubén Blades, and Pedro Pascal, among others.
