With her husband Dave McCary: Emma Stone proves at the International Spirit Awards that it doesn't always have to be a long evening dress.

Emma Stone (36) and her husband Dave McCary (39) were indirectly nominated for six awards at the International Spirit Awards this weekend. The film "I Saw the TV Glow", for which the two acted as producers, was up for election in the "Best Feature Film" category, among others. The actress and her partner appeared accordingly beaming at the awards ceremony on the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles.

Emma Stone, who recently sported a sophisticated pixie cut, proved on the blue carpet that a dazzling evening dress is not always necessary for a grand entrance. According to "Just Jared", she posed in a dress by designer Emilia Wickstead, which consisted of a green miniskirt and a black top with a plunging neckline, a slit on the stomach and glittering flower appliqués. She largely avoided jewelry and combined it with black high heels. Her husband appeared in a casual black suit with a beige shirt and skipped the tie.

"I Saw the TV Glow" goes home empty-handed

But the competition was too great for "I Saw the TV Glow" that evening. Although the film had the most nominations along with the romantic dramedy "Anora", the awards went to other projects. Nevertheless, Stone and McCary were happy to receive an award: it had already been announced in advance that their co-producer Sarah Winshall would win the festival's producer award.

The horror film "I Saw the TV Glow" with Justice Smith (29) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (30) in the leading roles is about two teenage outsiders in the late 90s who become friends through their love of television. Over time, they develop an obsession with a television series, blurring the lines between reality and fiction. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024 and celebrated its international premiere at the Berlinale a month later.
