According to Stiftung Warentest: This is the best sunscreen on the market – and it's a real bargain!

Good sun protection doesn't have to be expensive – as the latest test by Stiftung Warentest shows. These sunscreens impress with their strong protective effect and surprisingly low prices.

Not all sunscreens are created equal. Especially when it comes to our bodies, it's worth taking a close look at the ingredients, UV protection, and application. Even the most exemplary sunscreen is of little use if the product doesn't provide reliable protection. Stiftung Warentest therefore tested sunscreens for the body just in time for peak season – with a surprising result: The test winner comes from a discount store.

Stiftung Warentest tests the best sunscreens for the body What was tested – and why is it important?

In addition to pure UV protection, Stiftung Warentest regularly tests whether products also meet the highest standards in terms of application, ingredients, and labeling. Even well-known brands can disappoint: Some sunscreens—both inexpensive and expensive—do not meet the stated sun protection and are therefore rated "unsatisfactory."

The current comparison analyzes classics from Nivea, Garnier, dm, and Rossmann, as well as pharmacy brands like Eucerin and La Roche-Posay. The price ranges from €1.46 to over €21 per 100 milliliters – with ratings ranging from "very good" to "poor."

As a beauty editor, I know that UVA rays accelerate our skin aging, which is why I wear SPF 50 almost every day. That's impossible with regular sunscreen because it would give me terrible pimples. After a long testing phase, I discovered the Skin Restoring Moisturizer from Paula's Choice. Despite the high SPF, the texture is light, absorbs quickly, and doesn't leave a white film. It's fragrance-free and alcohol-free. Try it for yourself. Cream from Paula's Choice, approx. €45. Ilka, Fashion and Beauty Editor
A few weeks ago, the typical debate started again in my circle of friends: Which sunscreen is the best for the face? Which one doesn't cause pimples? Which one can be applied well under makeup? My friend had a direct answer to every question: the

I've been searching for a sunscreen that suits my oily yet sensitive skin type for a long time. I've finally found it with Nivea Sun Face Sunscreen Alpin. It has a creamy yet light texture, is non-greasy, and doesn't sting my eyes. I was also impressed by the SPF 50, which is an absolute must for me any time of year! These three products were particularly convincing

All three top products received an overall rating of "very good" (1.5), but differ significantly in price. They have one thing in common: reliable protection and good skin compatibility.

These three sunscreens convince in the test

At the top of the test field is the "Lacura Sun Sun Spray Protection & Care" from Aldi . It scores highly with its very good UV protection, contains no harmful ingredients, and also impresses with its value for money – 100 milliliters cost just around €2.50. Close behind is the "Sundance Sun Milk" from dm . It provides equally reliable protection, is particularly pleasant to apply, and at around €1.90 per 100 milliliters, is even more affordable. If you want to treat your skin a little more, try the "Eau Thermale Sun Milk Dry Touch" from Avène. from the pharmacy. At about 10 euros per 100 milliliters, it's significantly more expensive, but it also offers comprehensive protection and is especially suitable for sensitive skin.
