"Farmer Seeks Wife International": Kiss in Namibia, "Physical Involvement" in Bali

In episode five of "Farmer Seeks Wife International" (Tuesdays at 8:15 p.m. on RTL, also on RTL+ ), the first kiss takes place. And it happens on two farms. This is what presenter Inka Bause (56) promises at the beginning of the episode. She hasn't revealed which farmers it happens with yet.

Second chance after first impression with Martin

Martin (42) isn't really into kissing. The Austrian from Tuscany is still in the process of finding his match. He's invited five women to his farm. But the first batch consists of only three candidates: Jeanette, Vanessa, and Miriam.

Martin tests them on one-on-one dates, trying to revise his initial impressions. At first glance, Vanessa, a blonde from Hamburg, seemed too "cold" for him to imagine working on the farm. Meanwhile, he wants to know if the shy Miriam can also come out of her shell.

As night falls in Tuscany, Inka Bause has a surprise for Martin's trio of candidates. Two more women arrive. They are Sandra from Switzerland and Sarah, who reminds the farmer of his ex-girlfriend. Whether this is an advantage or disadvantage for Sarah remains to be seen.

But both latecomers fail. Martin, quite surprisingly, chooses two women about whom he initially expressed some reservations. He invites the reserved Miriam and the Hanseatic ice princess Vanessa to the court week.

Solyanka in Portugal

Olaf (70) is waiting for his wife Anna (65) in Portugal. To the sounds of "Smoke on the Water," Olaf, a self-proclaimed "Easterner," is preparing the typical Eastern European "soup" solyanka in the "antique pot" that Anna gave him when they met in Germany.

Anna arrives with the matching lid for the pot. The food and the red wine make both of them red-faced. They confess they feel like teenagers. But it's too early for a kiss.

Marco (38) in Namibia is also starting his farm week. He's giving Sabine (41) a tour of his farm. The mood is anything but flirtatious. A kiss isn't in the air, just as it isn't for Iris (55) in Florida. Instead, her farm boys Olaf (52) and Ralf (59) are repairing a fence, which is more difficult than initially expected.

A terrible end for Roger

Roger (61)'s week at court with Sophia (52) in Tenerife is coming to an end. Will there be a kiss? Roger invites his lady-in-waiting to a whale-watching boat trip to round things off. Although she gets a bit seasick, Sophia lets herself be persuaded. But when Roger tries physical contact, she politely but firmly rejects him. She misses the romance; she can't imagine a future together with Roger. The Luxembourger, who alienated his other two ladies-in-waiting with his early decision for Sophia, is left alone.

In Bali, the cockfight between Sven (45) and Patrick (57) over Carmen (42) is escalating. The farmer's wife adds fuel to the fire by suggesting a billiards duel. The winner gets a one-on-one date with her. Sven wins with the cue.

For the date with Carmen, the winner also suggests a round of billiards. If he wins, he gets to kiss her. Sven wins this game as well. He gets to give Carmen a shy kiss on the cheek. Just at that moment, Patrick enters the scene. Surely pure coincidence. Patrick's face falls. "That was physical contact," he wittily replies to the attempted explanation that it was just a "bet."

Who gets a kiss from Björn

So was Sven's playful smooch one of the kisses Inka Bause promised us? Apparently so. Because now only Björn (30) is left. But it remains exciting to see who will get their turn with the young farmer from Namibia. His ladies are roughly tied. After Sarah (27) was up in the last episode, this time Lea (21) gets to enjoy a one-on-one date.

Sarah was first too talkative for Björn, then too quiet. Lea speaks just right for Björn. At least, that's what he assures her, as she fears she's being too reserved. But Björn is taken with the young woman. He demonstrates this with a kiss. The first real kiss of the season.
